Annual conference 2023 of the German Society of Plant Nutrition (DGP)

The 2023 annual meeting will be held at the University of Hohenheim to commemorate the appointment of Margarete von Wrangel as the first female full professor at a German university 100 years ago as Ordinaria for Plant Nutrition at Hohenheim.

Cancellations & Refund Policy

Cancellations made before 01st July 2023 will be refunded in full.
Cancellations made from 01st July 2023 to 31st July 2023, will receive a 75% refund, which will be processed after the Conference and paid by bank transfer. Please note that refunds can only be made after the meeting has ended and bank service charges will be deducted from the refund amount.
No refunds can be made for cancellations after 31st July 2023.
Please notify your hotel directly to cancel accommodation bookings.

Abstract Submission and Presentations (Poster / Oral talk)

Abstract submission

Abstracts (not exceeding 250 words and 1 page) can only be submitted after registration for the meeting via the website. After receiving the registration confirmation, please send your abstract by e-mail to Please indicate if you would prefer to present a poster or to give an oral presentation.

Abstracts need to be submitted latest 31. July 2023. After this date, it will not be possible to submit or change any abstract. You can choose to apply for an oral presentation or a poster presentation. Participants will be notified by 31. August 2023, whether their abstract has been selected for poster or oral presentation.

Abstracts are automatically withdrawn if the submitter fails to register and pay the registration fee for the conference by the indicated deadline.

All abstracts should be formatted according to the template which can be downloaded here. Your abstract must be prepared in English, which is the official conference language.

Oral Presentations

Please, pass your presentation to our staff at least 3 hours before your session takes place in Power Point or Open Document format or as a pdf-file.“ The slide size 4:3 is recommended.
The presentation time is 15 mins talk + 5 mins discussion.

Poster Presentations

We recommend that posters are 84.1 cm wide x 118.9 cm high (A0 size).

Posters can already be mounted on 21st September, 5pm. Posters will be available for viewing throughout the annual DGP conference AND the preceding Boron conference. Presenters should be available at their posters during the assigned poster hours (to be announced). Depending on the final number of posters, a 1 min oral presentation of posters might be organized in session 1.

Best posters will be awarded a poster prize (to be announced).


A certain amount of rooms has been blocked in several hotels nearby the meeting location. Booking should be done individually by contacting the hotel and indicating “DGP-Conference” when making reservations. Costs are paid individually.

The hotels are within walking distance to the University (Garbe, Tagungszentrum Hohenheim, Tagungsstätte Birkach) or directly connected by a short bus ride (Traube, Apart, Hotel Filder). Additional accommodations can be found in the downtown area of Stuttgart (approximately 30 min by public transportation), and in the city districts “Möhringen” (approximately 10-15 min) or Vaihingen (approximately 15-20 min).
